Psychology (28 total credits):

  • PSY200 & PSY204 (taken at community college)
  • 20 credits in 300/400 level Psychology electives (excluding 399)

Sociology (28 total credits):

  • SOC200 (taken at community college)
  • 24 credits of upper division Sociology credits, 12 credits of which must be numbered 411 through 499

Women’s Studies (28 credits):

  • 12 credits from the core courses (not including WS404, 409, 411)
  • 16 additional credits which may be fulfilled by either core courses (including WS404, 409, 411) or other electives

Sustainable Urban Development (not available fully-online) (27 total credits):

  • USP313 - Urban Planning: Environmental Issues
  • USP424 – Healthy Communities
  • USP425 – Community and the Built Environment
  • USP490 – Green Economics and sustainable Development
  • 12 credits of advisor approved electives

Early Childhood Education Certificate (fully-online) (21 total credits):

  • SPED410 – An Introduction to Infant/Toddler Mental Health
  • CI410 – The Emotional Life of Toddlers and ‘Tweens
  • CI410 – Numeracy Development in Young Children

Resident Credit Requirements

Portland State's resident credit requirement may be met by one of two methods:
  1. 45 of your last 60 credits must be taken at Portland State
    -OR-
  2. 165 of total credits must be taken at Portland State, and 25 of your last 45 credits must be for a grade (as opposed to Pass/No Pass)
